La fiesta

I kind of like that British tv show, AS TIME GOES BY.  Not that I have a good sense of humor for all the Brit jokes, I don’t catch them, but it’s kind of sweet in a chick flick kind of way.

And I like the song.

We celebrated my parents’ anniversary and it was so memorable and wonderful.

I was able to create gallons of my special brew for the special event. It was a full bodied customized beer intended for everyone. Not that they are full bodies or something, just a simple metaphor on living a life filled with wisdom, love, and respect.

I had some help from caterers when a beer fountain was mounted at the side of the stage where we had the party. It was held in a hall for around 300 guests. I even heard a comment that they know there are champagne fountains, but beer fountains? Well, that’s creativity for you, folks!

It actually was my fiancée’s idea that we create and set a mood. Well, she’s not an interior designer for nothing. I should help her think of something better for our wedding’s reception next year - or the guests wouldn’t be as awed if we repeat this stint.

It still brings me to tears when I recount what happened during that night.

“Tonight we celebrate the years of our parents. They have given us a good home, education, values and most of all, love.” (Waiters light the beer fountain and start to serve guests with glasses etched with words, “As time goes by”.)

“To start this night, allow us to bring you to that exact night years ago when they first made music together.” (The band plays the song while our parents danced.)
